Is a Japanese head spa suitable if I suffer from hair loss?A Japanese head spa is very beneficial to those suffering from hair loss, as massage and scalp clarifying improves blood circulation to the scalp and can have a positive effect on future hair growth, making it thicker and stronger.
-
Are Japanese head spa treatments suitable for all hair types?Yes, Japanese head spa treatments can benefit individuals with all different hair types and scalp conditions. We will be primarily focusing on the scalp during the head spa. We only ask you to make sure that we have proper access to the scalp. We cannot perform services on customers with extensions, braids, or sew-ins as these obstruct access to the scalp and pores.
-
Are head spa treatments safe for individuals with sensitive skin or scalp conditions?Yes, our head spa treatments are designed to be gentle yet effective and suitable for various skin types, including sensitive scalps. Your personalised treatment will address specific concerns, whether you have a dry scalp, an oily scalp, dandruff or any general scalp discomfort.
-
Will the head spa affect hair colouring or keratin treatments? All of our ingredients are safe for any kind of treated hair. However, if you have had any kind of chemical services within a week before your head spa appointment, there is a chance that the colour/keratin may lift during the clarifying process. Therefore, we recommend that you wait at least a week after any kind of chemical hair treatment before receiving a head spa. It is also recommended to wait at least a week after having a head spa before doing any kind of chemical services so as not to apply chemicals to a freshly treated scalp.
-
Can I get a head spa treatment if I have extensions?Extensions are not ideal for a head spa treatment as we really need to access your whole scalp. Also, the oils and masks can dislodge tapes so it's best to have a treatment in-between having your extensions taken out and put in.
-
How often can I have a head spa?We recommend a head spa treatment every 4-6 weeks to maintain a healthy scalp and hair.
-
Can I still have a Japanese head spa if I don’t have any scalp issues?Of course!! Come and be pampered and indulge yourself in some ‘me-time’.
-
Can I have a head spa if I am bald, or have very short hair? You certainly can as the head spa focuses on the health and treatment of your scalp.
-
Can I have a head spa if I have a nut allergy? Many of our products and oils contain nuts or have been manufactured where nuts are present, so for your own safety, you should avoid the treatment.
-
Is a Japanese head spa safe if I am pregnant? Our Japanese head spa uses tested organic and natural ingredients. However, it would be best to consult your doctor to see if there are any oils that you should avoid during pregnancy. Another concern is that you would have to lay completely flat on your back during the whole duration of the service. If this is something you are unable to do, then it may be best to wait until after the delivery before trying the head spa. It is advised to consult with your Dr/Midwife before booking. You will need to sign a pregnancy consent form.
-
Will I leave with wet hair? All head spa treatments include a basic towel dry, but not a blow dry so your hair will still be wet. Please bring a clip to put your hair up if you have long hair, (hair clips can be purchased if necessary). A towelling turban can also be purchased if you wish to cover your hair when leaving. In times of cold weather, it may be worth bringing a hat to wear to keep you warmer as you leave.
-
Do you offer couples headspas? At present it is just me doing the head spas, so they can only be done individually.
-
What should I wear?Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. You will be lying down for approximately 25 minutes for the petite treatment, 40 minutes for the deluxe treatment and 70 mins for the indulgence treatment. You will need to remove any clothing on your top half to leave your neck and shoulders bare for the treatment. You will be covered with a towel and blankets to feel warm and "cocooned".
